Beacon 1-Car MVA w/ Fire (2/10/01)

On Saturday, February 10, 2001, at around 22:30, the Beacon City Police reportedly attempted to stop a vehicle on Verplanck Avenue in the city. The vehicle reportedly fled and struck a tree head on at the intersection of Verplanck Avenue and Melio Bettina Place. Upon impact, the vehicle's engine compartment caught fire. The City of Beacon Fire Department responded with Engine 1 (33-11) and Rescue 1 (33-55) along with Beacon Volunteer Ambulance. The fire was quickly extinguished and the victim received no injuries.

Beacon 2-Car MVA (10/19/00)

On Thursday, October 19, 2000, at 15:44 Beacon Fire Department and Beacon Volunteer Ambulance were dispatched to a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Verplanck Avenue and Schenck Avenue. Upon arrival of Beacon PD, they reported a two car accident with two subjects complaining of neck and back injuries. Beacon Volunteer Ambulance transported both subjects to the hospital

Beacon 2-Car MVA Pin (7/29/00)

At about 2:45PM the City of Beacon Fire Department and Beacon Volunteer Ambulance Corp were dispatched to a report of an MVA with a car into a building. Upon arrival of 33-55, they found one van on it's side and one person pinned in the vehicle. Command requested ALS for serious injuries and the building inspector to the scene due to minor structural damage. The fire department used the Jaws of Life to extricate the victim from the vehicle. No injuries were reported in the second vehicle.

Beacon 1-Car MVA (7/13/00)

On Thursday, July 13, 2000 at 11:29, the City of Beacon Fire Department and Beacon Volunteer Ambulance were dispatched to a motor vehicle accident at Fishkill Avenue and Main Street. Upon arrival, units found one subject semiconscious and requested ALS to the scene. The subject was removed from the vehicle and transported to St. Luke's Hospital in Newburgh.

Beacon 2-Car MVA (6/13/00)

On 6/13/00 at 1629, the City of Beacon Fire Department along with Beacon Volunteer Ambulance were dispatch to a motor vehicle accident on South Cedar and De Windt. Upon arrival there were 2 cars, one which had a small amount of smoke issuing. The fire was quickly extinguished with a fire extinguisher. There were two minor injuries as a result of the accident.
